About

Hi there! I am Rania Tuku, a junior at the University of Southern California studying Cinema & Media Studies and PR & Advertising.

The intersectionality of my three identities as a Black, Muslim woman inspired me to use the art of film and storytelling to accurately represent marginalized communities.

I am drawn to storytelling that feels real, intentional, and human, the kind that sticks with people.

I believe that ideas come to life when creativity and strategy work together as one! A lot of my work is rooted in representation.

I care about how cultures and communities are portrayed, and constantly try my best to be more honest and inclusive with my work, way beyond what is shown on the screen.

I gravitate towards brands and organizations that stand for something, leading me to collaborate with teams like Beats by Dre, Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, Hello Human, and this summer, Amazon as a PR Specialist Intern.

I am originally from the Pacific Northwest, but I’ve been living on the West Coast since 2023. Being surrounded by different perspectives and creative spaces continues to inspire how I approach my work.

In my free time, I love to surround myself with my family and friends, travel, run, read, and obsess over reality television ( specifically the Real Housewives Franchise ).
